My favorite Sedans

I've sat and made entry's all about the cars I like or want or whatever. But Ii think I need to break it down for ya. So This one is my top sedans that I like. I always had an affinity for sedans, but they need be rwd or awd.

  • Crown Victoria: Last body on frame car in existance, able to seat six and has decent V8 power. For the most part secially being a fleet only vehicle always had a simpleness to it. Aside frrom the later models with adjustable pedals. Too bad it only came with an automatic. A few colors to choose from(litarally like six) one engine/tranny, three grilles, two interior options(cloth/vinyl minus the rubber floor option over carpet) Driven correctly can achieve nearly 30mpg on the highway. Classic conservetive  looks. Screw the Marqius and the Town Car the Vic is where it's at.
UPDATE D/27/19: I had one of these, 08 CVPI, still one of my favorite cars and I want another one. I hate the way cars are now. A CVPI has all a car needs and nothing more. That said; a bit more horsepower, manual trans, HIDs and it's pretty much perfect. I also love the 79-86 Crown Vic. I want a 04-09 and a 79-86 in black... and without that stupid Opera top.
  • Checker Marathon: Talk about Timeless classic looks the Marathon model hadn't been redesigned once in it's run. Why do it, it worked perfectly, there's not another cab I would want to sit in a New York traffic jam in. It's it's own car the only thing it shares wth GM was its drivetrain's which where usually inline and vee sixes. I really need one of these.
UPDATE D/27/19: I still want one to restomod. They were made in the 70s until the 90s yet looked like something you'd find in the 50s.
  • 80s and 91-6 Chevy B Body Caprice. The box and the bath tub. Not the 87-91 with those horrid composite headlights, though.   Good thing about the box b body is it's basically an extended g body and all the g body aftermarket and performance stuff bolts right up. The optispark is kinda shitty on the 90s ones, but that's what an LS swap is for. A 9C1 Caprice would be nice to match a P71 Crown Victoria
  • 80s Volvo 240: I prefer the wagon, but the sedan is nice, too. They are easy to mod and despite the fan base are track day sleepers. The flying brick. Have a racing history on not just the tarmac, but rallying as well. Like all the other cars on this list; must be black. No chrome.
  •  2017 to current(19) Charger: I've always been a Dodge fan, it's the v6/v8 rwd/aws sedan this country needs. I love the look of it, but I can't stand the lack of a manual and all that superfluos crap cars are plagued with these days. It woulda been nice to offer it in a manual(especially the awd). I could even make piece with it lacking a manual, since one with the Challengers ecu could be swapped in. I wish I could ditch the shitty infotainment screen with a single DIN HD/Bluetooth radio. Honorable mention is the same era 300. I think it would be fun to gut it and drop in a cross ram or six pack 440 and a six speed. Gut the dash and kill all that tech inside.

  •  05 Impreza STi: It's the generation I like the most and has that beautiful symetrical awd goodness.
  •  2002 Galant VR4: I always prefered the look of the Galant to the Lancer, plus twin turbo v6 with awd.
  •  90s Toyota Cressida: Very nice full size sedan, will probably take a 1 or 2 JZ, toss a manual in it. It's kinda roomy. Looks great.
Honorable mentions: 1st gen LS400, 71 Chevelle sedan, 71-6 Maveric sedan

Zefal bike light kit.

I bought this headlight and taillight from the company Zefal a few months ago. First off the headlight seems to be nothing but a flash light with three settings(steady, blink, strobe) and takes three AAA batteries in a real elaborate fashion. the tail light takes two. The tail light also has three settings(Steady, blink and chase). All appeared to be well until one night I was riding my bike and I ran accross a bumpy road(Which Louisville, KY has alot of), seems like the headlight doesn't take kindly to extreme vibrations. The mount it uses done't like any sort of handlebar with any kind of taper to it like the one on my 89 Schwinn Probe. The light is not forgiving at all. It would dim, flicker and pretty much go out, when on uneven pavement. It only uses nine LED's and I come to notice one had burnt out. It lit up the road pretty good aswell as casting out a good amount of light which LED's aren't really known for. It also does what they aren't known for and drain batteries.

The Tail light seemed like the only thing worth it in the whole kit. It lasted longer than the headlight, was bright. It also came with two mounts- a seatpost mount and a mount that goes on one of the tubes for the rear wheel. It's also designed to clip on the rider. Now when I was just thinking, it was worth keeping. It started to fall off the bike. It uses some clip device to hold it into the clip(that you can put on you) to hold it on the bike mount. It constantly fell out of the latter. Which is a good way to lose a light in traffic, could also be unsafe if you tried to retrieve it. Sometimes as it hit the ground the batteries would pop out when it opened up. I even had to bend on the the metal ontact tabs for the batteries. I bought the set because it was relatively cheap. But alas, you get what you pay for, and performance was decent. I believe I paid under twenty dollars for them and they even came in a fancy lil box.  In conclusion, I say avoid this companies light sets like the damn plague.

Best Schwinn Probe ever!!

I have a 1989 or so Scwhinn Probe mountainbike. They came out in 89. It's a tall frame bikes which benfits my 6'4 ass. I'm gonna see how many stuff from my old Mongoose will fit on it. My theme is black and red. WHich is good because a good amount of stuff from the Mongoose is black. I'll have some pictures and update eventually. It's a pretty decent bike, probably one of the good late model Schwinns you can get. Gotta cut it short, I'm at work.

Exhaust Systems

Tonight, I'm talking about exhaust systems for your vehicle. This is just my take on geting the right performance with your exhaust. I'm not an expert or anything, I'm just piecing it together from what I know so far. Nonetheless, I still think this will be helpfull in gaining optimum performance with your car. ANd if you hadn't known by now- I'm for all around performance. From drivetrain to sound and even lighting. With performance comes efficiency, your vehile can truely excell.

I really think exhaust tip placment is an important part of getting good flow. Consider your cars aerodynamic properties; how the air flows around the car. Normally the exhaust exits out the rear of the car which is a more or less calm area where it usually isn't effected by the swell of air wrapped around the car as it moves. This is also why most vhicles with stacks have the stacks aimed rearward with few exceptions. I think the perfect setup would be to aim the tips where there is an aerodynamic vacuum that pretty much sucks the emissions right out of the system. I also believe that cars like the Dodge Viper and Factory 5 roadster/Shelby Cobra could benefit from a more reaward exit exhaust and claim atleast 1½ hp. I still feel that side exit systems suffer from air drag, disallowing proper flow.

That brings me to length and diameter. Vipers and Cobra's have a very short exhaust system. This inwhich could actually compensate for the air drag. They actually have rather large diameter pipes too. The shorter the exhaust system, the smaller the distance it travels and very little resistance. This gives you more top end, mote noise. For some vehicles there is an extreme loss of power. Why? Backpressure. That is the buildup of exhaust gasses that exit the engine and don't right away flow out. Thats about the best way I can put it. Wanna see what I'm talking about, take the muffler of of your push mower. Loss of compression, loss of power. It is possible to lose compression when shortening exhuast or just running headers. Backpressure helps create compression. Diameter is another key, Theres no reason to run a 4-6 inch diesel pipe on a Civic.  Most of the time a car doesn't need over an inch and a half or two. The oucasions where larger diameter exhaust would be needed is a built engine; big block or turbo motor. Turbo motors also do well with out a muffler. If anything toss on a glasspack. Too large an exhaust will give too much flow, but too small. The smaller you go, the more restrictive the exhaust.

Should you equalize your exhaust or not? Where talking about effiecency here. What gives you the right flow to go? H-pipes, X-pipes or indendant pipe? The sad thing is How an exhaust sounds is sometimes a bigger deal or deciding factor. Be aware of the slight loss of performance, because you are too worried about sound enjoyment. We'll start with the H-pipe, while this does equalize the system and let "them" tell it, it's better than an independant system. It's an "H", that crosspipe can create some sort of backpressure which mmake sit more in aiding in more torque, as emissions hit's that negative zone where it can slow down. I'd say: even if the emissions didn't just go right past it, as it wasn't there. But they do work, no doubt about it. Keep the x-pipe for slow moving offroad vehicles, and drag cars where the horse power talks and the torque walks. X-pipes!!! This is what you want, when you are going for top end or trying to break speed records or anything similar. Unlike the H, the X actually has both cylinder banks actually colliding. I can't remember if the results are a vacuum created at that point or not. The X is actually a more gradual connection than the H(which thries to make both banks go through that on straight pipe.)  as the emissions gradually cross one another. TO me this is the only way to go, this or independant pipes. Which flow just as good as an X-pipe and with even less resisitance as the exhast or pretty  much goin on direction, a straighter shot if you will. Generally most vehicles run(ran/used to) this general setup. I persdonally would run this if I were't gonna run a x-ipe. Perhaps, sometimes you don't even need to equalize the cylinder banks.

I'd say I've covered as much as I could for the moment. Remember performance, effiecency. Not sound.

Places to Visit

I'm still trying to broaden the range of subject I put on here. Its not easy to do. I've still got stuff to add before the years over. My take on sitcoms and one more thing I can't remember. Right now heres places I want to go:

I'm starting off with a museum I have been wanting to go to since I heard about it a few years back. the International Towing & Recovery Museum. It's in Tennesee which is about an hour and a half away from Louisville, in Chatanooga. They display all sorts of tow trucks and wreckers ever since the beginning. They like most vehicles were built by coach builders at the time. Coach builders are companies that would take a chassis and add the body, seats, console and etc.to the cframe thus making it a vehicle. Thats why certain old cars such as Duesenburgs are rare for the company built a rolling chassis to be sent to a place much akin to limo builders or armoured car companies(todays examples). Meaning a few of them were essentually converted limosines. I love tow trucks and like to draw them. My favorite are Cradle Snatchers. I wonder if they have one of those Goldwing recovery vehicles in there?

The next place is California, more specifically Los Angles where my cousins live at. I went there once when I was too youg to remember it all or take advantage of it. Its not a place I would want to live at, as much as the car world revolves around that place KKKalifornia hates cars and blames them for everything wrong in the world. Never-the-less I would love to drive my emissions noncompliant Mustang(thats right like they used to do drive) all the way there when we have the money to do so. I have been longing to return to Cali, California here we come, right back where we started from. Maybe see a few car shows, enter some races. Go to some clubs, beaches and malls. Most importantly see my family.

How will I get there ofcourse? Travel the old Route 66. It's the only fuckin way to do it, you tell me another logical way to do it. Since before the movie Cars, I've wanted to take that trip. Take the trip like it's supossed to be taken in an old muscle/pony car staying at those cheap lil hotels and truck stops for food. Sleeping on the side of the road if needed. Yeah we could rent an RV but that wouldn't be bear as fun. Sadly not all of it is there and I would like to see whats left to see. Get a few top end runs outta the Mustang to see what she'll do. We'll need some cameras and batteries. Laptop for internet and quick pic uploads and blogging. It's still a old school style trip even with that.

Heres a reocurring trip done yearly tradittionally aslong as we have money, going to the Mall of America in Minnosota. I just want to shop, stay in it's hotel and check out as much as we can. I don't care about the amusement park, I just want to see stores we don't have and used to have. We used to have a number of malls here but that number pretty much dwindled to three local malls. I'm not counting strip malls, theres alot of those. If we can get the life we want to have we can shop till we drop. I say stay a week at a time so we can see atleast half of the mall. Maybe one day buy a house out there so we can spend summers. Don't take me the wrong way, I'm not a superficial person, I just want to shop there. And yeah I want a house out there just so we can go out there and shop.

Next up is the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association or SEMA for short. I know it's not open to the public but I could care less, I still wanna go. Get to see all of the new tools and ect. Also to see where I stand with my ideas, praying someone else hasn't came up with it too. One day I'll have a booth in the show, now I just want to see the show from beggining to end. Theres not enough car tv shows and well known auto websites to cover it all. I'll get in there somehow. This is where you see all the cutting edge things.

I want to add Burning Man. I know they always have amazing things there. I've found random blogs that speak of it and some youtube videos. Inventors, engineers and innovators are there. People like me. I'll hafta find more info on it.

Trike update

I've been doing more research. And it was a fluke that I got when I was looking for trikes on Moped Army. I ran across one thread about one and they were saying how to make them and what axles. So after a search I found out my trike( click tittle) has a Peerless 100 series open Diff axle.

Biking

Now I am a vehicular enthusiast, this includes bikes, scooters, skateboards, SUV's etc. Now in my city the Cyclist are fighting for equal rights, some of them are a tad more, well eccentric than others. Wanting to make Bardstown Rd a bike and pedestrian only street and other ideas like that. But its mostly the Cagers(enclosed vehicle operators) fault. Like I said, I'm a vehicular enthusiast; cyclist do what they hafta do to survive the trip and just because you have a enclosed vehicle doesnt mean your the boss, and I'm sure motorcyclist agree with that statement. Regaurdless of law or ordinance the "lesser vehicles" ie: motorcycles, scooters/mopeds, and bikes, will do whatever it takes. Now motorcycles are normally big and have the advantage of loudness and speed that the others lack. scooters unless maxi-scooters have half the advantages and same for mopeds. They all have a slight edge on bicycles. Most problems is most cagers dont know or care for the laws for bikes which is simply stated bikes are to traverse on the streets and roadways, not on the sidewalks. I take advantage of it often because the ride is better and faster but I will retreat to a sidewalk if a must.

Right now I will be fixing up a Trike of unknown origins(see previous post) to ride, Problem is Trikes are heavier than bikes which makes them slower. They are also wider, most of them atleast the width of two bikes riding next to each other or three fixed gears. I had a few ideas for it.

  • Make it into a lowrider which would pull a old Radio Flyer wagon(now rusting to hell) as a trailor that carried a another lowrider I was making from a Kawasaki BMX bike(no longer own) that cant be ridden.
  • Because of its design, a offroad trike.
  • Dropping a motor on the back, or cutting the rear off and welding it to my mopeds rear swingarm.

My plan now is like the equivilant of restomoding keeping it simple but upgrading it to a 26' and hopefully being able to add a front disc brake and I was thinking dual rear brakes that I can operate independantly be cause of the LSD, I can brake in a turn without loosing the ability to pedal. Maybe being able to eliminate the coaster brake of the gear hub so I can go in reverse with the use of a BMX brake system(how most use one lever to activate both front and rear brakes) to control both rear brakes. Slapping on some slick road tires with a skinny in the front. I have everything I need accept front fork(need from beach cruiser), wheels, brakes. and it needs a bearing on one axle. I'm all about customizing my stuff.

I'm all for equal rights for bikes and other vehicles, I'm not one-sided when it comes to this stuff. It's all about the focus point. These patronizing bikelanes dont really help and they're only on certain streets. Same with sidewalks, every street should have a proper sidewalk for bikes and pedestrians(they aren't the focus point though) to use. Cagers need to bring their A-game up too. They need to understand bikes are going to be on the streets as the ordanance is written, and the distracted driving(drunk, on the phone, eating etc.) needs to stop. This is safty for other cagers and us folks on open vehicles cause right now till my car is fixed I'm a full-time bike rider when I can be.

Thhis tricycle I bought

I got this trike like three or so years ago and when I bought it I got it from some kids who were riding it around with no rear tires or tubes which I guess damaged all the spokes. The front wheel was from some 24' wheel from a girls bike, white tire and all. It looks as though it was blue, green or both at once and someone painted red, poorly. I had a few ideas for it, Slap a motor on it, make it a low ride, whatever. Anyway just look at the pictures, cause I have no idea what it is, maybe you do.

So as you can see, it looks like it could be a Schwinn like I was told but I mean most trikes atleast old ones use that frame style. Its got a primary chain that runs the the three speed coaster brake then a secondary chain to the rear axles limited slip differential. All that crap is mud, nut its had like three or four bathes of WD-40, so its good. My main thing is hub removal so I can possibly have it converted to a 26" trike. Onroad or offroad, motor or not we'll see.
